Solution to metal burrs generated by extruded aluminum profile products

Metal burrs (pockmarks or rough surfaces): An irregular tadpole shaped, point like scratch defect that appears on the surface of aluminum alloy products.

1. Reasons for metal burrs in extruded aluminum profile products

(1) Insufficient hardness or uneven hardness of the mold working belt;

(2) The temperature of the extrusion tube and metal is too high, and the extrusion speed is too fast or uneven;

(3) The working belt of the mold is too long and the smoothness is not enough;

(4) The mold work belt is sticky with metal and not smooth;

(5) Squeezing the wool material is too long.

2. Methods for eliminating metal burrs in extruded aluminum alloy products

(1) Improve the hardness and uniformity of the mold working zone;

(2) Heat the extrusion tube and ingot according to the regulations, using an appropriate extrusion speed;

(3) Reasonably design aluminum profile molds, improve the surface smoothness of the working belt, strengthen surface inspection, repair, and polishing;

(4) Adopt a reasonable ingot length.
