How to prevent orange peel defects during aluminum extrusion
Orange peel is a "wrinkle" on the surface of aluminum alloy extruded parts, presenting an orange peel like concave convex shape on the surface, also known as "surface wrinkle". During the extrusion process of aluminum profiles, the grains become coarser. The degree of "wrinkling" is more pronounced as the grain size becomes coarser and larger. After extrusion, there is a noticeable occurrence during the straightening of aluminum profiles. The deviation of the composition of the casting blank or insufficient solid solution treatment, as well as inappropriate extrusion conditions, can cause the grain to become coarse.
Methods for eliminating orange peel:
1. Adjust the extrusion temperature and extrusion speed appropriately.
2. In the straightening process, reduce the amount of stretching.
